A Sunny Afternoon with the Sprouse Family | Bloomfield, Iowa


After photographing and videoing a stallion session "SHOW ME YOUR PISTOL"—owned by Ryan and trained by Zac—it was time to switch gears. The midday sun had turned the pastures golden, and with the horses settled, I had the privilege of capturing another kind of beauty: family. The Sprouse crew met me out in Bloomfield at their home, and from the moment we started, the vibe was effortless. There’s something extra special about documenting families who live and breathe the western lifestyle—dust on their boots and love in every interaction. With the sun toasting everything in sight, we kept things light and natural. The kids giggled and ran through the tall grass. Mom and Dad shared quiet glances while the horses grazed nearby. It was one of those sessions that didn’t need much direction—just a good lens, a fast shutter, and a willingness to follow the moments as they unfolded. After the energy of the stallion shoot, this family session was the perfect contrast—soft, genuine, and heartwarming. A reminder that while horsepower might turn heads, it's the people behind the scenes that keep everything moving forward. Sprouse family, thank you for letting me step into your world for the day.
