May 21st brought me back out to Broken A Livestock for a visit that was anything but slow. Spring is in full swing—and so is the baby boom.
Calving season is officially here, and the Dexter herd is growing fast. We hopped on the four-wheeler and made our way out to the pasture to check on the newest arrivals. Two calves were finding their footing, following mama around and stealing the show. There’s something pretty special about catching those early moments—especially when the grass is coming in thick.
It wasn’t just the cattle keeping things lively, though. Back at the barn, I got to see the whole baby brigade: piglets squealing, bunnies hopping, chicks chirping, and even a few barn kittens. It’s the kind of day that reminds you what rural life is all about—chaotic, beautiful, and always changing.
Erica was, of course, the ultimate multitasker—juggling it all with a smile and a list of big plans. In between checking livestock and feeding the newest additions, we talked about some upcoming content ideas, strategies, and an exciting trip to Oklahoma that’s in the works.
At Feeders Grain & Farm Supply, there’s always something moving—whether it’s livestock or business goals. And if the barn’s not buzzing with baby animals, you can bet something else is growing behind the scenes.
Stay tuned—because this spring’s just getting started.
