I recently attended this event where we mixed coffee, killer networking, and a bunch of business tips that were as fresh as a Monday morning espresso. The Retail Roundtable, in collaboration with a local collective, turned out to be an entire day of learning, laughing, and leveling up.
9:00-9:30 AM: Coffee & Headshots
We kicked things off with coffee from Retro Roast (hello, caffeine) and a mini photo session with yours truly. Because nothing says “I’m a boss” like a new headshot, am I right?
9:30-9:45 AM: Setting Intentions
Bonnie Eisenhart got us all focused, telling us to write down what we wanted out of the day. Spoiler alert: Mine was “steal all the best tips.”
9:45-10:15 AM: Goal Setting with Katie & Jull
Katie and Jull had us share our business goals, and wow, the diversity of businesses in the room was inspiring. Everyone was eager to grow, whether it was scaling their online store or upping their customer game.
10:15-11:15 AM: SEO & Branding
316 Strategy Group shared some SEO gold. They made it clear: SEO isn’t just about keywords—it’s about telling a story that sticks. Pro tip: If your brand doesn’t feel like it has a soul, people won’t buy into it.
11:15 AM-12:15 PM: Financial Tips with Lutz
Lutz had the best reminder: know your numbers. It’s easy to get caught up in the fun of running a business, but if you don’t know where your money’s going, well...good luck with that.
12:15-1:00 PM: Lunch by Clever Greens
After a morning of brain food, we got literal brain food—Clever Greens hooked us up with a healthy, delicious spread. Perfect recharge before diving back in!
1:00-2:00 PM: Shopify Tips with Jillian Garry
Shopify owners, this one’s for you. Jillian shared 15 ways to turn clicks into customers. If you’re not already tweaking your site, now’s the time. She made the art of the “add to cart” way too exciting.
2:00-3:00 PM: Facebook & Instagram Ads with The Business Badie
The Business Badie served up some seriously good ad strategies. Want to run ads that actually work? Here’s the secret: It’s all about targeting, copy, and testing like a mad scientist.
3:00-4:00 PM: Social Media Influencing with Taryn Thompson
Taryn’s session was like a masterclass in influencer marketing. Short story: pick influencers who actually vibe with your brand. It’s not just about the followers—it’s about the connection.
4:00-5:00 PM: Happy Hour Networking
Because what’s better than a day of learning? A happy hour where you can share what you learned, network some more, and make plans to take over the world (or at least your business).
This event was more than just a day of “business talk.” It was a chance to connect, learn, and come away with some real tools to make our retail dreams happen. If you ever get the chance to attend, don’t think twice. It’s a game-changer.
