Senior Spotlight: Tressa Beck

Meet Tressa Beck, Shenandoah senior, rodeo girl, horse lover, and future equine dentist; yes, she already knows exactly what she wants, and honestly, we love a girl with a plan. Favorite color? Pink. Favorite game? Uno — because she always wins (her words, not mine). Favorite place to escape? South Dakota. Favorite class? Animal Science, obviously. Greatest accomplishment? Winning her first buckle. Least favorite thing about high school? You guessed it… math. What she’ll miss most? Mexican with her best friend Morgan. She’s a mix of humor, heart, and cowgirl confidence, and her session reflected every bit of it. We kicked off the afternoon at the bridge in Corning, and the overcast sky turned it into a natural softbox. (Photographers dream of this kind of light.) Tressa rolled up with her outfits and her “let’s do this” energy. After the bridge, we headed to the lake. The calm water = perfection. Tressa was a natural; giving rodeo star one second and Hunger Games main-character moment the next. (Her favorite movie is The Hunger Games, so honestly, fitting.) On the drive to her dad’s place in Lenox, we literally ran into cattle. To make it even better, we got a surprise visit from longhorns. They walked right up, unapologetically stealing the show — and Tressa loved every second. Turns out, they also love apples, so yes, they were the easiest models of the entire day. Once we got to Tressa’s dad’s house, we wrapped up the evening with the stars of her senior story — her horses. This was the part she had been waiting for, and it showed. She laughed, fed, brushed, and loved on them like the lifelong partners they are. Cowgirl photos just hit different; especially when the horses are part of the family. Tressa’s advice to underclassmen? “Don’t worry what others think of you.” Her favorite quote? “Believe you can, and you’re halfway there.” — Theodore Roosevel Both feel pretty fitting for a girl who’s already carving her own path — buckle wins, rodeo goals. Her future plans?Equine dentistry (the horses of Iowa just collectively cheered). Tressa, thank you for such a fun, fun session — for the laughs, the longhorn moments, the overcast magic, and letting me document such an exciting season of your life. You’re headed for big things, and I’m cheering for you every step of the way.
