The Perfect Time to Get Family Photos
Senior year has a funny way of sneaking up on families.
One minute you’re cheering from the stands, hauling boots and backpacks, juggling practices and school nights. The next, graduation dates are circled on the calendar and life is quietly shifting into a new season.
That’s why adding a family session to Jolie’s senior shoot felt so meaningful. This season, right before graduation, is one of the most important times to document your family together. Everyone is still under the same roof, schedules haven’t scattered in a hundred directions yet, and the dynamic you’ve built over the years is still intact. There’s something incredibly special about freezing this version of your family before it evolves.
Family photos don’t need a milestone to be worthy, but senior year naturally becomes one whether you plan for it or not. It’s a pause point. A deep breath before change.
Parents often tell me, “I wish we would have done this sooner.” And while photos are always valuable, there’s something especially powerful about capturing families in this in-between season. The familiar routines. The easy laughter. The way everyone still fits together. These aren’t photos just for today. They’re for the years when the house feels quieter.
When I photograph families, I’m not looking for perfection. I’m watching for connection. The way parents look at their kids when they’re not thinking about the camera. The inside jokes. The comfortable closeness that comes from years of showing up for each other. That’s why family sessions with me feel relaxed and natural. You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about what to do next. I guide you through it, keep things moving, and let the real moments happen in between. Just like senior sessions, family photos should feel like you.
