Fall Family Session on the Farm with the Gardner's
This fall, I had the absolute joy of capturing the beautiful moments of Chris, Mal, and their two sweet daughters, Della and Mae. Their love for their farm, animals, and family life made this session one to remember!
A Peek into the Family's Life
Chris, 34, is a hardworking field service technician in agriculture, while Mal stays home with their little ones, managing their bustling family life. Their daughters, Della (6) and Mae (2), are full of energy, sweetness, and a deep love for animals. Della, a first-grader, is a busy bee with horse riding lessons, 4H activities, and Irish dance classes. Mae, the youngest, is following in her sister’s footsteps with swimming lessons and a fearless love for riding horses. Together, they’re rodeo enthusiasts and spend much of their time outdoors—whether it’s checking cows, hanging out on their farm, or attending local fairs and rodeos.
Capturing Their Story
The family's love for their animals played a central role in our session. Their farm donkeys, horses, and cows were more than just backdrops—they were family members. The girls’ faces lit up every time we incorporated their furry friends into the photos. I learned quickly that the way to Della and Mae’s hearts was through their beloved animals, and those candid moments of joy were magical to capture.
Styling the Session
Mal chose timeless outfits for the session—dresses for her and the girls, and Chris in a classic pearl snap. Their style perfectly complemented the natural beauty of their farm and the golden hues of fall. We made use of their pasture as the location, creating an authentic backdrop that highlighted their rural lifestyle.
Highlights and Special Moments
One thing I’ll never forget about this session is how much these girls adore their animals. Whether it was Della proudly riding her horse or Mae chasing after the donkeys with no fear, their connection to the farm was evident in every frame. It was also heartwarming to see the family’s closeness—they’re not just a family but a team that thrives on their shared love for the outdoors.
